New zoning category "subsidised housing"

In order to create more affordable housing and prevent real estate speculations, Vienna has revised the building regulations and introduced the new “subsidised housing” zoning category.

Social Housing

In Vienna social housing is an umbrella term. Social housing in Vienna consists mainly of municipal housing (owned by the City of Vienna), subsidised rental flats built by limited-profit housing associations and of flats in buildings which have been renovated as a part of the “gentle urban renewal” programme.
