The EU Urban Agenda - Partnership on Housing aims to contribute to better housing policies in Europe and frameworks creating access to adequate and affordable housing for all European citizens.
Listen to the cities
More than 70 percent of the European inhabitants live in cities. Urban areas are the places where social challenges such as immigration and integration, homelessness, segregation, poverty, unemployment are concentrated and have to be solved. Urban authorities know the needs of the citizens and are often the level of government closest to them. To strengthen the cities’ voice in the governance process of the EU the EU Urban Agenda was established in 2016 (by the Ministers Responsible for Urban Matters in Amsterdam). By focusing on concrete priority themes within dedicated Partnerships, the Urban Agenda seeks to improve the quality of life in urban areas.
