wohnpartner was founded in 2010 with the aim of providing the residents of Vienna’s municipal housing complexes with community service and professional conflict management. Around 160 social workers, mediators and coaches support the residents in their efforts to cope with everyday challenges and conflicts. They also provide them with possibilities for participation, dialogue and positive interaction.
Structure and Accessibilities
wohnpartner has a central headquarters and 20 different district offices, out of which nine local teams operate. It also has six Residents’ Activity Centres.
Diversity
The diversity of the residents in the city’s municipal housing complexes is reflected in the composition of the local staff. Our employees are diverse in terms of age, gender, origin, spoken languages, abilities and vocational training as well as in many other aspects. Due to this policy, wohnpartner was selected as one of ten “functioning practices” for the European Migrant Integration Academy 2013.
Guiding principles
wohnpartner is oriented towards the needs and ideas of the residents. We regard them as experts in terms of their own living environment. We deal with conflicting parties with a multi-partial attitude and apply a socio-spatial approach.
